Raj Narayan has been involved with ELCIA since 1995 and became its President last year. ELCIA caters to all large and SMB organizations and its coveted members include organizations like Infosys, WIPRO, TCS, etc. ELCIA undertakes the complete management and functioning of the Electronic City, Bangalore, handles key aspects like Security, Transportation, Water and overall Infrastructure. In addition, the Association takes up environment-friendly activities. Every year, over 2000 saplings are planted to ensure that the surroundings are green and eco-friendly.

ELCIA has many achievements to its credit, the entire place has its own security, traffic wardens, great roads and infrastructure to the extent that it has become a role model for several others. In addition, Raj Narayan adds that the members of ELCIA are highly educated, qualified, very sensitive and pro active about the requirements of the organization. Also there is very high understanding and camaraderie amongst the members, which paves the way for the obstacle-free accomplishments.

It’s interesting to note that ELCIA does not make short-term activities or plans. Their plans go up to eight years and beyond, this ensures that each of the members have a long vision and clear objectives and are focused to achieve the same. The organization is also focused towards the development and benefits of all its members. Some of the forthcoming focus areas include creating common amenities like car parking, common transport to the business center, increasing high quality buses.

In addition ELCIA is also trying to mobilize support from other associations, local groups to speeden up the activities. One other key activity includes the sanitization and e-waste management in the locality. Several outstanding initiatives have been taken up in this regard and today, ELCIA functions nearly independently in managing its e-waste and sanitization requirements, especially considering that the huge Electronic City does not have a sewage system! ELCIA made its own arrangements, mechanism to collect and transport out sewage and has spent nearly 20Lacs for the activity. ELCIA also takes socially responsible activities and on its own, undertakes the mid day meal program for over 5000 school children from adopted villages.

Raj Narayan says that innovation does not stop with IT or is not limited to the field of IT. Innovation is everywhere and one needs to have passion towards something. Its very unique to ELCIA that its members are highly positive, action oriented, very close knit members. This helps a great deal in achieving the objectives. Collective participation and implementation is the key to success, he says.
