Intertek's training program for textile sector

TIRUPUR, INDIA: Intertek, a provider of quality and safety solutions, organized a Compliance Practitioners Initiative (CPI) Certified Social Compliance Auditor program for practitioners and students associated with textile and apparel industry.

The program was developed with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) audits, said a press release.

The four-day intensive training program focused on all aspects of audits and was aimed at compliance personnel who have been working in the apparel industry, or for students who intend to work in the compliance domain in the textile industry. Upon successful completion of the training program, participants are awarded a joint certificate of CPI Certified CSR Auditor from CPI and City & Guilds.

Rajesh Saigal, MD, Intertek India, said, “In today’s fast-changing global market, it is not only the quality of garments that is appreciated by retailers and manufacturers, but also the working environment of the organizations where their products are being manufactured.”

This audit is therefore relevant to both new and existing players in the textile market.”

Established in the UK, CPI is a global qualification scheme for practitioners in the Testing, Inspection and Certification industry. CPI has developed a variety of cross-industrial and cross-functional certification programs specifically for practitioners in the supply chain business.
