Intersil gets new design centre in Bangalore

BANGALORE, INDIA: Analogue and mixed signal semiconductors manufacturer, Intersil Corporation has established a new design centre in Bangalore. This centre will focus on analogue and mixed-signal and power-management ICs and besides providing system-level application support for customers, it will also develop new integrated circuits and reference designs.

"The design centre also includes labs to support Intersil's research and development activity," said Ramanujam Thodur, managing director, Intersil Analog Services. This new facility is spread across 18,000 square foot and is a result of consolidating two design centres in Bangalore and Hyderabad.

"Having a centralized design centre in India will not only enhance collaboration amongst employees, but also boost overall productivity within the various teams. The Bangalore team will continue to provide key support for Intersil's business in the region's growing market,” said Roger Levinson, vice president and general manager, Intersil's Signal Path Products group.

Thodur said that, the company plans to double the headcount in the next four to five years. Currently, the headcount of the company is 40 employees. Globally, the company has about 1,600 employees and it reported a revenue of Rs.4,155.74 crore in 2011.
