The devices deliver noise performance up to four times better than competitive single-supply op amps. The ISL28X90 sets the new industry standard for single-supply, rail-to-rail output op amps at 1.0nV/rt(Hz), while the ISL28X91 comes in at just 1.7nV/rt(Hz).

As the industry’s first ultra-low noise, single-supply op amps, these devices allow designers to simplify designs by achieving noise performance previously only attained with dual-supply devices. This, along with the industry’s best harmonic distortion (THD+N) at 0.00017 percent (ISL28X90) and 0.00018 percent (ISL28X91) make this family of rail-to-rail output op amps ideally suited for noise-sensitive audio, medical and industrial instrumentation applications.

These op amps are optimized for operation at 5V and below, with the single-channel amplifiers offered in a space-saving SOT23 package while the dual channel amplifiers are offered in a 10-lead MSOP package. Single-channel amps in 1.6mmx1.6mm micro-TDFN package and dual channel amps in the 1.8x1.4mm micro-TDFN package are now sampling.

The combination of superior noise, harmonic distortion and bandwidth performance is in keeping with Intersil’s complete pinPOINT Precision Analog product line’s commitment to unwavering accuracy over time and temperature.

Intersil’s pinPOINT Precision Analog product line features a wide range of low-power devices that provide unwavering signal accuracy over time and temperature. The family of parts includes precision voltage references, precision op amps, comparators, instrumentation amplifiers, current sensing amplifiers and data converters.

The pinPOINT voltage references offer the industry’s highest performance at the lowest power consumption, while the amplifier families feature true precision across the entire common mode voltage range. All of Intersil’s pinPOINT op amps are specified over the full automotive temperature range (-40ºC to 125ºC).
