The broadband wireless Internet service aims at bridging the gap between what

the user demands and what he gets. Initially, Applogic Wave Net is eyeing the

corporate segment for this technology. The speed of Internet access would range

from 1mbps to 100mbps. This means Net congestion will become a non-issue.

The company started its operations in March 1999 as a player in the telecom

space. It now plans to expand its operations to a number of other cities in

India. Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and Ahmedabad will be connected by the end of

this year. In a bid to firmly entrench itself in the telecom space, Applogic is

going to invest around $12 million in its Indian operations. Right now, the

company is providing broadband Internet connection for Rs 6 lakh for a period of

one year. Its current customer base of 18 is likely increase to over 150 by the

end of this year.

Talking about the company’s plans, Applogic director Vishnu Induri said,

"We are also planning to enter into the telecom space in Singapore as an

Internet service provider."
