Internap opens hybrid data center in New York

ATLANTA, USA: Internap Network Services Corporation announced the opening of its newest data center, located in Secaucus, N.J. This marks Internap's 12th company-controlled facility nationwide and underscores its strategy to build out a footprint of premium, geographically-distributed data centers.

The facility will serve customers in the New York metro area and beyond with Internap's complete portfolio of hybrid IT infrastructure services, including colocation, managed hosting and virtual and bare-metal cloud. Additionally, advanced design features will deliver maximum uptime and some of the highest power densities in the industry.

According to 451 Research, multi-tenant data center utilization in the New Yorkmetro market is expected to reach 94 percent by 2014. The Secaucus facility will add 55,000 net-sellable square feet over time to Internap's existing data center capacity in the New York metro area, including 75 Broad Street, which is nearing full capacity.

The state-of-the-art Secaucus facility will serve customers' growing demand for diverse IT infrastructure services that can address a wide range of application and use case requirements, with high-performance, low-latency network delivery.

The data center meets these complex needs with Internap's full hybrid portfolio that includes scale-out, highly-automated services, such as its virtual AgileCLOUD and bare-metal cloud AgileSERVER, as well as more customized environments like managed hosting, private cloud and colocation, all of which can be managed seamlessly through a "single pane of glass" portal.

Internap's hybrid IT infrastructure is powered by its global, route-optimized Performance IP connectivity with patented Managed Internet Route Optimizer (MIRO) technology, which intelligently scans traffic patterns and delivers applications and content over the fastest path.
