Intelenet sets up BSNL service facility in Patna

PATNA, INDIA: Close on the heels of launching a delivery center in Lucknow for BSNL, Intelenet Global Services, part of the Serco Group, today inaugurated another facility in Patna for BSNL, one of the largest and leading public sector companies providing a comprehensive range of telecom services in India.

The new facility in Patna will be situated at BSNL exchange, Patel Nagar, Bailey Road. It will service BSNL's base of prepaid, postpaid and 3G cellular subscribers in the telecom circles of Bihar and Jharkhand.

The center will provide multi-lingual services in English, Hindi and other local regional languages to deliver customer support services including product inquiries, customer complaints, requests for provisioning new services, and outbound calls.

Mr. Bhupender Singh, chief executive officer, domestic operations, Intelenet Global Services said, ''Intelenet recognizes Patna as an emerging business destination. The capacity built in Patna is based entirely on client requirements and also blends with our business strategy of providing multi-location delivery capability to our clients. The ability to acquire a pan India reach is part of Intelenet's growth strategy that further cements our position as the strongest player in the domestic BPO industry with an ability to provide a complete spectrum of outsourcing solutions''.

Commenting on the partnership with Intelenet, Mr. R.K. Agarwal, director - Consumer Mobility, BSNL added, ''Intelenet is a strong player with valued experience and expertise in the telecom sector. With the recent launch of a center in Lucknow and now in Patna, it has reinforced its reliability and the acumen to scale on an ongoing basis for its clients. We are delighted that this affiliation will help us provide better customer support and achieve the desired business outcomes.''

The domestic business of Intelenet currently comprises a headcount of over 27,000 employees, and 32 delivery centers, across 18 cities. Intelenet was the first International BPO to venture into the domestic BPO sector in 2005, said a press release.

The domestic business currently has client relationships with leading multinational companies across telecom, banking, insurance, consumer durables, retail, media, aviation and public sectors.

The domestic subsidiary provides services in 15 languages with centers in Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Mohali, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Delhi, Puducherry, Lucknow, etc.

The domestic Indian BPO market, where Intelenet is the market leader, is forecast to grow by around 20% per annum to $2.5bn in 2014, according to Gartner.
