New Update

BANGALORE: Netkraft, a three-year-old company offering net solutions, has

laid off at least 45 employees citing a restructuring exercise where they found

the laid off employees’ skills being less relevant to current customer

requirements and some of them being consistent under performers. This amounts to

about 12 per cent of the company's employee strength. Netkraft CEO Prashanth

Prakash has confirmed the layoff to CIOL Bureau this over email.

He reasoned, "These were the same associates that during our restructuring

exercise
identified as not being aligned with our required because they were

not aligned to our current objectives/market demands."

However, he denied allegations that the entire software testing team being
evicted and phased out from operations. "Only the temporary junior testers

have been asked to leave considering the job requires the skill set of entry

level developers," he said. There are about 15 testers in the company and

the division continues to be significantly supplementing its project deliveries.

No more lay off plans are on the anvil for the company. Prasanth added that

the company would continue with its growth plan and add between 100 to 150

professionals possessing the required skill sets and experience. Although the

lay off was part of the restructuring exercise, some of the senior management

has taken a voluntary pay cut between 10 to 30 per cent.
