BANGALORE: Continuing the high profile visits to India by the global leaders of the IT industry the next on line is the Paul S Otellini, President and Chief Operating Officer of Intel Corporation. According to sources, the Intel Chief’s India itinerary includes visit to India’s financial capital (Mumbai) and silicon capital (Bangalore). No Intel spokespersons were available for comment.

While in Bangalore, Otellini will participate in the ground-breaking ceremony of the company’s proposed $40 plus million new development facility in the outskirts of the city. As part of his responsibility of overlooking the development and delivery of new products and technologies, Otellini visit reinstates his interest on the new facility, which will be developing the next generation Xeon and Centrino processors.

A San Francisco native, Otellini’s earlier visits to India have been rather silent, when compared to his CEO, Craig Barett, a regular to India. In his upcoming visit, it is informed that, Otellini will give a keynote address to a gathering of professionals in Mumbai before meeting the team in Bangalore. The company has a large development facility in the silicon hub of India with over 1000 engineers. It also has a smaller facility in the heart of the city where partners are engrossed in various projects. The proposed facility would be Intel’s second in the city, fully owned.
