NEW YORK, USA: Chipmakers Intel Corp and Micron Technology Inc on Friday unveiled a high-speed memory
chip for hard drives and digital video cameras, saying it was five times faster than conventional NAND flash memory technology.
The two companies said they jointly developed a new type of NAND technology that reaches speeds of up to 200 megabytes per second for reading data and 100 megabytes per second for writing data.
The new technology would for example allow a consumer to transfer a high-definition movie five times faster than by using conventional NAND, they said.
