Intel’s India engineering center and also the innovation team based in Bangalore has played a significant role in the design and development of Xeon processor E7 series. The team was involved in planning and executing design activities that included designing, pre and post silicon logic validation and testing.

The team jointly worked and collaborated with Intel’s other teams based in the US, Malaysia, Mexico and Costa Rica to come out with the new Xeon processor E7 series a quarter ahead of its scheduled time.

“This product demanded a significant amount of innovation and cross-geo network and the team in India has once again proven its exceptional engineering capability and showed us its focus on execution and innovation,” said R Sivakumar, Intel’s managing director — Sales and Marketing Group, South Asia.

Xeon process E7 series contains 18 new processors for 2,4 and 8-socket servers and expandable to servers with 256 sockets. It comes with Intel Advanced Encryption Standard New Instruction (AES-NI) to provide quick encryption and decryption of data, coupled with the Intel Trusted Execution Technology (Intel TXT) to build a secure platform against malicious threats and protecting applications and data.
