Intel launches India embedded challenge 2010

BANGALORE, INDIA: Intel India, on Thursday announced that it has launched a national level competition called as “Intel India Embedded Challenge 2010” at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore.

The competition is designed to create a platform for engineering, MBA students and technical professionals to explore the endless possibilities of embedded applications based on Embedded Intel Architecture.

The competition would be open for all the engineering colleges, management institutions and professionals who are interested in embedded applications, said a press release.

Innovative ideas are invited from participants in wide range of application areas such as gaming, medical devices, consumer electronics, green computing, social networking, infotainment, robotics, etc, said the release.

In the phase 1 of the contest, participants submit their innovative ideas based on embedded technology in the form extended abstracts.

In the second phase the short listed teams / individuals will submit full proposals to an expert panel of evaluators from Intel, India.

Each short listed team would receive hardware and software support from Intel and students teams will be assigned to an Intel Technologist for a period of 3 to 4 months.

The expert panel would short list original and viable ideas for second phase of the contest that involves prototyping of the idea by using Intel Atom kits and mentoring support provided by Intel India.

Prizes for the winners include Rs. 10,00,000/- as Intel Innovation Grand Prize, Rs.1,00,000/, Rs. 50000/- and Rs. 25000/- cash prizes for winners, 1st runners up and second runners up respectively in students and professionals category of the competition. 

Apart from the cash prizes aspirants can win gold medals, opportunity to participate in Intel’s other global programs, added the release.

Aspiring participants need to visit www.intel.com/education/in and register online to participate in the contest from Sep 1st 2009 to Nov 30th, 2009.
