Besides these, we've also given fixes to problems based on the feedback from our readers. These include a fix to print on HP printers and automatically mounting NTFS partitions. The update is easy to install. Pop the PCQLinux 2005 SP1 CD in your machine's optical drive and boot from it. If you don't have any version of PCQLinux installed, it will detect that and terminate after the second screen with a message that no installation of PCQLinux was found. Otherwise, it will continue. Note that this is only meant for PCQLinux 2005 installations, and not for the older versions of PCQLinux.

The first screen you see after booting. Simply press Enter to continue, or type 'text' and press enter to undertake a text-based installation

After a few screens, it asks you to do a media check . We strongly recommend that you do so. Once you have done that, click on OK
Old, slow computers might get text based installation automatically, otherwise it uses graphical installation You will see multiple instances of PCQLinux here, if any. Select one you want to upgrade and click on Next
Here you will be prompted to upgrade the boot loader, but we recommen against it. So choose the 'Skip the Boot Loader upgradation' option If you want to go back and modify any changes you made so far, do it here. You can't go back and do it once you click on Next here
This screen shows the installation progress and estimated time left for completion If installation is successful, you'll get a Congrats screen. Simply reboot your machine and you're done
After first reboot, the system automatically starts the

advanced installation process and reboots into PCQLinux
The upgrade process will terminate with this message if it finds an older installation of PCQLinux
