WhatsApp, the most popular free messaging platform that is used by millions of users across the world, seems to be facing certain issues at present. Users of the platform have been trending WhatsApp down as they are unable to send or receive messages or calls on WhatsApp. Several people on Twitter have said that they are facing issues while changing trying to even login into their accounts. Only in a few minutes of the app going down, there have been over 32k reports around the world of WhatsApp down on Downdetector. There have been repeated complaints, messages tweets, memes on social media that they are unable to send or receive messages. The issue that is being reported that users’ notification has changed to "You have unsent messages on WhatsApp".
In a similar instance, users are unable to use Instagram as well. On the Downdetector, at 11 PM IST, 30k users have reported not being able to load their feed, send or receive posts, reels etc. Reading the tweets on Twitter, we can see the uproar as many have 30 thousand tweets have reported that both the apps are down for almost 15 minutes now.
It is not the Internet or Wifi; "Instagram and WhatsApp Down"
Many have claimed that when both the apps - Instagram and WhatsApp down, they first thought it was their internet or wifi; but other apps, including Twitter, Telegram, gaming apps, were working, they started checking on Downdetector and tweeting their issue. For instance, Naseeb Choudhary, a Twitter user said, “Turning wifi on and off, turning the phone on and off; switch to data, Instagram down, Whatsapp down. I realized that Twitter isn’t down Hashtag WhatsApp Down, Hashtag Instagram down. A few thousand users have also reported that Facebook is not working either.

Everything Facebook owns is down?
WhatsApp or Instagram have not issued any statement on being down, but we can expect it anytime soon. The cause of the outage needs to be ascertained too. Downdetector has also reported that both the apps have been down for half an hour now. Thus far, only the Facebook umbrella entity - WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook itself- have not been working. The cause for the outage can be expected to be the main server for the three.

WhatsApp Beta Info (not WhatsApp) acknowledges the outage and tweets that the apps should be working again in a few minutes.
