BANGALORE,INDIA:Inspan Infotech, one of the largest IT distribution companies for motherboards and hardware components, announced the launch of Corsair Padlock 2 – a highly secured USB drive for protecting confidential and sensitive data. This USB drive is first of its kind and launched in India for the first time by Corsair and Inspan.
This drive works similar to ATM cards and is unlike the other such drives from various brands which work on software based passwords. Unless a 4-10 digit password is entered, the data cannot be retrieved. The software based password protected USB drives are prone to hacking. If the drive is lost or stolen one need not worry about the important data being accessed by wrong hands.
This 8GB USB drive is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux systems. Password protection can be scaled up to 10 digits for locking the drive. In case the PIN code is forgotten, the user can restore the USB drive to factory settings by clearing the data on it so that drive can be used again.
The USB key has 256-bit encryption on stored data and is just plug and play like the regular USB. The drive is housed in an extremely durable shock-proof rubber to prevent it from physical damages, a feature of all high end Corsair products. Moreover, Corsair offers Life time Warranty on this making it a fantastic product to choose from.
The product is extremely useful in segments where data protection is of paramount importance like Defence, R&D establishments, BFSI etc.
“Security is the key. There is an increasing trend of data theft. Protection of data is quite a challenge especially in a device like USB drive as it may change many hands. Corsair has addressed this problem very well by introducing padlock based USB drive” said Sudhir S, Managing Director of Inspan Infotech, ”Corsair Padlock 2 will create a segment of its own in USB drives. Corsair has always created specialty products and Inspan has been passing on the benefits of those features to partners and customers” adds Sudhir.
