Ingram unveils ecMobile to LIC agents

BANGALORE: Ingram Micro India Limited (IMIL) is all set to revolutionize the

sales and marketing of Life Insurance policies with the launch of ecMobile-enabled

Palm Handhelds to LIC agents. This is one of Ingram Micro's joint initiatives

with Solutions Center to bring to the LIC agents to bring cutting edge

technology to stay online.

Having one of the biggest distribution networks in India with offices across

23 cities, Ingram Micro would be targeting LIC agents throughout the country.

Ingram India Ltd's vice president (marketing) PG Kamath said, "Today's

financial community must be able to talk to customers, access information, and

transact business around the clock or lose out to competition. Palm Handheld can

keep data flowing- quickly and securely - wherever and whenever you need

it."

K Banerjee, " ecMobile is a very innovative product and will greatly help

our agents to effectively sell and service their clients on the move. We are

also providing soft loans to help procure Palm with ecMobile software."

Solutions Center's CEO Venkat Raghavan said "ecMobile is a decision

making tool specially designed and developed for LIC agents in consultation with

Palm Top Committee. We are also in the process of developing similar solutions

to all other Life and General Insurance Companies".

ecMobile Life Insurance companion is a brand new and powerful decision-making

tool for LIC consultants and agents. The device calculates the premium for

various types of plans, provides the agents accurate information on the spot,

thus enabling them to close the deal with their clients in a single visit.

ecMobile also provides instant information on loan eligibility and offers

details on the salient features of best selling plans immediately. It also

allows the user to store list of over 1,000 prospective client in its database

and reminders to prospects can be automatically preset and e-mailed or faxed on

preset dates.
