Each consortium will develop, set up and operate a test area in Germany, in order to validate the future value-added services, such as online evaluation, update of patient data, as well as qualified electronic signature (QES). Based on the new patient data card and the Healthcare professional card, e-Health terminals will contribute significantly to the infrastructure's security.

Ingenico will develop new embedded security software for its range of e-Health terminals, which will enable installed terminals to connect to the upcoming nationwide Telematics infrastructure in Germany.

With more than 150,000 active terminals, representing nearly half of the market, Ingenico Healthcare/e-ID is the market leader for e-Health terminal solutions in Germany. The Group is also the market leader in France for e-Health card solutions for doctors, nurses and pharmacies. In France, Ingenico already operates 45 million secure patient Health card update requests per year thanks to its fleet of dedicated terminals deployed in pharmacies, hospitals and other public areas.
