BANGALORE: Infosys is upbeat on the future of its BPO arm, Progeon, which has

added one client during the quarter ended December 31, 2002.

Progeon's clientele base has now increased to four, all of whom are existing

clients of Infosys. The company has generated revenues of Rs 8.21 crore but has

registered a loss of Rs 1.42 crore. "Progeon  is in the inception

stage and a lot of investment has been made for scaling up operations, which has

reflected as losses. But in future, the company is poised to achieve good

results," said, Infosys CFO, TV Mohandas Pai.

After the exit of Phaneesh Murthy, Progeon gets a full time CEO and Managing

Director in Akshaya Bhargava, who got inducted on November 4, 2002. The company

also added 139 employees to its now 426 strength. The company is currently focusing

on offering voice and non-voice related services to its financial service

clients.
