Infy to keep a tab on staff's online networking

BANGALORE, INDIA: Infosys technologies is introducing a social media clause for its employees, which warns them against the dos and don’ts while they interact with people on social media platforms.

Staring this August, Infosys is introducing a preamble for using social media. According to the company it would empower the company to take legal action against any leak of the confidential information.

Some of the points under the clause are that an employee cannot talk about confidential data / information about deals, partnerships with their friends and even discuss it with the colleagues in the same team.

Nandita Gurjar, senior vice president and group head, Human Resources, Infosys Technologies, said, “A confidential data is a confidential data, but in casual chat and social media interaction they tend to speak out about their projects, which they should not.

Apart from this, she added, “Employees cannot make personals remarks on the any Infosys employees. People can share about their views, but should avoid personal diatribes.”

She informed that if caught, an employee first receives a warning letter, because a lot of times people share in casual chat unknowingly, and if it repeats then legal action could be taken against the individual.sud
