In addition to displaying product information, the system will allow consumers easy side-by-side product comparisons, convenient search for ink, toner, supplies and accessories, and visibility into suggestions for alternative products.

“We are excited to implement our electronic catalog.  It will play an important role in enabling our reseller community to take advantage of world-class search capabilities while improving their end-customer experience by delivering industry leading product content,” said Dave Bent, SVP & CIO - United Stationers. “This is our first major offshore endeavor and it is a testimony to our faith in Infosys and its Global Delivery Model.”

Pravin U.B, SVP and Head, Retail, Infosys Technologies said: “Infosys is proud to assist United Stationers on its transformational journey towards greater business success. Our Search and Insight-driven Computing Practice has helped United Stationers to leverage a leading search platform to create a successful information access system for the wholesale and retail space. United Stationers' offering could well become the benchmark catalog and content delivery model for others in the months ahead, not only in terms of functionality but also in terms of performance.”

Infosys, United Stationers’ systems integration service provider in this initiative, was involved in the full development lifecycle of the engagement as well as its day-to-day project management. From helping to define the requirements and envisioning the solution to assisting with test and deployment, Infosys’ services were integrated into every stage of the transformation process. Infosys’ Global Delivery Model and strong quality processes also ensured smooth execution of the initiative and adherence to United Stationers’ budget and timeline requirements.
