Infotech, IBM to provide PLM and engineering soln

 HYDERABAD: Infotech Enterprises Ltd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Infotech Enterprises America, Inc., has signed an agreement with IBM to jointly provide services to assist clients across the globe in accelerating the deployment of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Engineering solutions for the manufacturing Industry.

The new agreement provides a framework with the objective of offering the highest level of consulting, solutions and integration services.

The agreement calls for IBM and Infotech to provide project management enterprise integration, design engineering and software technology capabilities to support a wide range of PLM application platforms, ranging from CAE, CAD/CAM/PDM, to SCM and MRO. Together, IBM and Infotech will leverage their combined global delivery capabilities and expertise to suit specific client and market requirements.

According to the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM), global spending for engineering services is currently estimated at $750 billion per year. By 2020, the figure is expected to increase to more than $1 trillion.

Rajan Kasetty, president and CEO of Infotech Enterprises America, said, “Together, our two companies will be able to bring our customers the best combination of Infotech’s domain knowledge in engineering with IBM’s systems, software technology, and services capabilities.”

Jay Bellissimo, GBS partner, Global A&D –IBM, said, “Partnering with Infotech will allow us to mobilize expert A&D consultants and engineers with the broadest range of PLM skills. This will enable both companies to provide numerous opportunities for expanding value to our clients in addressing complex PLM, supply chain, and collaborative business model requirements.”
