BANGALORE, INDIA: Infosys technologies today reported that recently it has been granted with three patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The company now owns around 12 patents, with 221 patents in the queue.
The three patents are in the filed of software design performance and architecture.
Apparatus and Method for Evaluating Software Performance: This technique provides an automation method to select performance scenarios from multiple application workloads and analyze the performance of a software system, said Infosys. It is useful in software engineering for enterprise applications and modeling of software systems.
Automated Relationship Traceability between Software Design Artifacts: This method traces the relationship between software artifacts related to design. It helps assess the impact of change in a software design artifact on other artifacts during a major software engineering project.
System for Modeling Architecture for Business Systems: According to Infosys, this method generates the architecture of a business system to enable implementation of applications by developing a software organization viewpoint from several views, and provides architecture guidelines.
Last month, Infosys said in a statement that it applied for eight patent applications in India and the US during the fourth quarter of 2009-10, and an aggregate of 224 patent applications were pending in India and the US.
The IT major had received two patents earlier this years in the month of January, 2010 for data communication and abstract core (System and Method for Managing Playout Time in Packet Communication Network, Methods and System for Configurable Domain Specific Abstract Core). Its existing 12 patents are largely contributed by the SETlabs division of the company.
