BANGALORE: US-based Aetna Inc and Infosys Technologies Ltd. have announced a strategic relationship, in which Infosys would support Aetna's off-shore initiatives and assist the company in transforming itself into an e-business enterprise.
According to a press release, Aetna will establish an information cyber system for healthcare, called e-Health, that connects patients, doctors, hospitals and service providers to Aetna, as well as offering Internet access to Aetna customers. This system will also assist the company in standardizing platforms, migrating applications, centralizing all data and conducting more business electronically.
Aetna also plans to initiate a major e-business strategy with its financial services business. According to the release, this requirement to acquire skilled personnel and high quality resources led Aetna to select Infosys Technologies.
