BANGALORE: Infosys will set up the world’s largest software development
facility in the city. This was announced by Karnataka minister for large and
medium industries R V Deshpande. He said that the Rs 619-crore project of the
software giant has been cleared by the state government.

The facility is expected to house 7,000 software professionals and will be
situated on the outskirts of the city. The state government has directed the
Karnataka Area Industrial Development Board to acquire 100 acres of land on the
Hosur-Sarjapur road and hand it over to Infosys by March.

The minister said that the government has also sanctioned 100 acres of land
to Infosys in Mysore and another 25 acres at Mangalore to expand its operations.
