BANGALORE: Infosys Technologies Limited today announced the
inauguration of its Software Development Campus at Pune Infotech Park, Hinjawadi,
Pune. Situated on 25 acres of land, the first phase includes four software
blocks that can accommodate up to 1,200 professionals, a computer centre and
dining areas, and has a built-up area of approximately 2,00,000 square feet,
said a release here.
The company also plans to set up a library, training rooms,
discussion areas, conference rooms, and indoor and outdoor recreation facilities
for the new Campus in the next phase. When completed, the Campus is expected to
accommodate over 2,000 professionals. In May 1996, Infosys began its Pune
operations with a Development Centre, which is now fully functional with over
550 employees.
"The Pune Development Center has shown rapid growth
since its inception. This new state-of-the-art facility at Hinjawadi will help
us leverage the potential of this city. Infosys was founded in Pune in 1981 - so
setting up this facility is a kind of homecoming for us," said Infosys
Technologies Limited Chairman and CEO N.R. Narayana Murthy.
