FREMONT, USA: Indian IT bellwether Infosys Technologies said on Monday that it has won North America Oracle Titan Award during Oracle OpenWorld 2010, for outstanding customer solutions by a leading partner in 2010.
Infosys was awarded a Titan Award for the successful implementation of Oracle Warehouse Management System (WMS) for Cummins Inc., a global power leader, a corporation of complementary business units that design, manufacture, distribute and service engines and related technologies, including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission solutions and electrical power generation systems, it said in a statement.
Headquartered in Columbus, Indiana, (USA) Cummins serves customers in approximately 190 countries and territories through a network of more than 500 company-owned and independent distributor locations and approximately 5,200 dealer locations.
The Infosys solution for efficient warehouse operations involved the implementation of Oracle's industry leading Warehouse Management System (WMS) in addition to Oracle Distribution, Financial and Technology products, the release added.
Ravi Kumar S, vice president and global head of Oracle Practice, Infosys, said the award reflected its continuing strong relationship with Oracle, and also its deep knowledge of their solutions and Infosys' ability to consistently deliver the highest quality of service to our mutual customers.
“The solutions Infosys offers, along with Oracle's extensive suite of products, provide clients with the ability to solve their most critical problems and transform the core of their business,” he added.
Oracle also said that as a Diamond Sponsor of Oracle OpenWorld this year, Infosys' CEO S. Gopalakrishnan will be keynoting at Oracle OpenWorld on Wednesday, September 22. Infosys will also be presenting 22 expert speaking sessions addressing multiple business and technology challenges.
Meanwhile, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) also announced that it has been awarded the Oracle 2010 North America Titan Award for Excellence in Security and Identity Management. This marks the fourth time PwC has won the Titan Award in this category.
