BANGALORE, INDIA: IT bellwether Infosys Technologies has sent out at least 13 of its senior employees from its Australian operations, which has around 360 people working. According to a reliable source, the company has cut the workforce from Expert Information Services, a company which was acquired by Infosys in 2002.
When checked with Infosys Technologies, it described the development as part of “organizational restructuring”.
“We have had an organizational restructuring in our Australia subsidiary and as a result some positions have become redundant. It is the first time after the acquisition that this is being done,” Mohandas Pai, Member of the Board and Director for HR, said in a prepared statement.
In November 2008, chief of Australian operations, Gary Ebeyan quit the company citing personal reasons, handing over the reins to ex-IBM business process specialist, Jacqueline Korhonen.
Meanwhile, one of the unconfirmed sources, indicated that the company is looking at restructuring its Consulting business. However, the company denied any such move.
