The software company will launch its very own radio station, Infy Radio, in a couple of months. Nandita Gurjar, senior vice president and group head, human resources, divulged this on Tuesday, adding, “The radio project will be like a normal radio station, from where employees can tune in to music and request for their favourite songs. Through this radio station, we plan to bring more fun for employees. Here you can spoof even your leaders, as it's just fun.”
She felt this would help in increased interaction between employees and top executives, with talk shows being scheduled on the station. Infy Radio would be accessible to employees, who can download an application on their iPod and other hand-held devices and listen to music on demand, added Gurjar.
Infosys currently has more than 1.30 lakh employees on its rolls across its development centres around the world.
About a month-and-a-half ago, the IT bellwether launched its own social media platform — Infy Bubble — for its employees to post their comments, views, blog entries and upload images, a la Facebook and Orkut.
The networking platform to be monitored by the company has a set of disciplinary regulations, which come down heavily against personal and abusive comments, has about 74,000 profiles at the moment.
“We understood the need of communication among Infoscions. Two years ago, during our strategy meeting, members of our Rs Voice of Youth team gave a proposal and our technology team designed it,” said Gurjar.
