REDWOOD CITY, USA: Informatica Corporation announced that it has been positioned as a leader in The Forrester Wave: Big Data Streaming Analytics Platforms, Q3 2014. Streaming analytics include both development tools to create streaming applications and a runtime platform that enables business users to exploit perishable insights from high velocity data streams.

Forrester describes streaming analytics as software that can filter, aggregate, enrich, and analyze a high throughput of data from multiple disparate live data sources and in any data format to identify simple and complex patterns to visualize business in real-time, detect urgent situations, and automate immediate actions.

“Informatica infuses its first-class business rules engine with streaming capabilities. Informatica loves data. It eats it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner through its well-known integration technologies … [Informatica] is one of two vendors evaluated in this Forrester Wave that enables developers to gracefully author streaming applications using both business rules and streaming operator constructs built-into the platform,” stated Forrester.
“Informatica makes it easy to turn real-time streaming data into actionable information,” said Ash Kulkarni, senior vice president and general manager, Data Integration, Informatica.

“Open source technologies like Hadoop are great for manipulating large volumes of data in batch, but the open source solutions for real-time streaming are too difficult to use and fall far short of what is required for production environments.  Informatica’s big data solutions give you the best of both worlds; with a high-throughout, real-time, streaming analytics platform that complements the batch capabilities of Hadoop to deliver the industry’s most comprehensive big data platform.”
