New Update

BANGALORE: Informatica Corporation, a provider of data integration software, today announced that it has partnered with NIIT, to offer specialized training programs on Informatica products in India.

Advertisment

Through this alliance, NIIT will initially roll out the training programs at its education centers in Mumbai and Bangalore.

The new NIIT training programs will use Informatica’s data integration tools. The Informatica PowerCenter 8 Developer Level one will be the first course launched in India. It accounts for more than 80 per cent of the training demand for Informatica courses. The program will be available as two course types: Corporate Training with certified trainers teaching at the customer site and Public Training, where students attend open classes, an Informatica statement said.

Commenting on the partnership, Ashish Basu, president, NIIT Corporate Solutions Business, said, “The Indian IT industry will now have access to Informatica’s products and training programs in this space, through NIIT’s extensive education network.”

Advertisment

“Skills in data integration tools are in much demand today with IDC estimating the data integration spending worldwide to increase from $9.3 billion in 2003 to $13.6 billion in 2008,” said Ramendra Mandal, country manager, Informatica India. “Informatica has more than 40 System Integrator partners in India. They have specialised Informatica developers who need to take part in regular skill upgrade and refresher courses. The education program will satisfy their needs as well.”

Informatica plans to further expand their partnership by offering the Informatica Professional Certification Courses in India through NIIT.
