BANGALORE, INDIA: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Institute of Logistics organized a conference last week under the theme "Adoption of Fashion-Focussed Technology - A Perfect Fit" focusing on Fashionomics: The New Economics of Fashion. CII organized this conference in association with Infor, the business application software provider serving more than 70,000 customers.
The conference enabled in-depth knowledge sharing on the challenges faced by fashion and apparel companies in India, and discussed best practices in harnessing the power of technology in the fashion and apparel segment.
With the Indian fashion industry witnessing a large paradigm shift, fashion businesses require technologies that help to accelerate thinking, streamline decision-making, reduce costs and improve business agility. The roundtable aimed to demonstrate the benefits of adopting applications which are simple to use, beautiful, and can help provide continued competitive edge to fashion businesses.
Bino George, head of Pre-Sales, Infor India said, "Designers, distributors, manufacturers and retailers in the Indian fashion industry fully appreciate the fiercely-competitive climate in which they operate today amidst fast-changing fashion trends and increased consumer demands. They are looking to Infor to help address these industry issues as we provide specialized, purpose-built solutions that consolidate financials, sourcing, manufacturing, supply chain, sales and distribution management information into one coherent view of operations, helping to generate business efficiency and transparency."
Veteran experts from fashion and retail technology addressed brand and logistical challenges faced by the apparel-textile-fashion industry in India, coupled with the low adoption of technology. This invitation-only event was attended by key delegates including senior management, officials and professionals from various apparel manufacturing companies, brands and retailers based in India.
