HYDERABAD: Having acquired SSA Global, providers of enterprise solutions Infor would look at making its presence felt in the Indian market.
Hyderabad, which currently houses SSA Global’s development centre, is seen by Infor as one of its Global Delivery Centres. As a consequence of the acquisition some of Infor’s Enterprise Resource Planning and Supply Chain Design development work would be relocated to Hyderabad.
Infor closed the acquisition of SSA Global on July 28 before buying out business software vendor Extensity and Systems Union. UK-based Systems Union, providers of financial and performance management solutions was acquired by Extensity in April. Revenues of Infor, following the three acquisitions, are in excess of $ 2 billion. Revenues stood at $ 750 million before the three acquisitions. It has now scaled to become the third largest player in the ERP space behind bigwigs SAP and Oracle.
``The Indian industry is growing at a rapid pace. We want to use this as a base for our Indian operations. The acquisition of SSA Global has given us prominence here,’’ said John Flavin, senior vice president, general manager, Infor.
According to Flavin, the acquisition would not have a negative impact on SSA Global’s overall operations in India. ``We would be increasing our investment in India,’’ stated Flavin.
The Asia Pacific region, Flavin said, would experience a healthy growth. ``We are pretty bullish about the growth in this region,’’ hoped Flavin. At present, Asia Pacific generates only nine per cent of Infor’s total revenue.
Following the acquisition of SSA Global, Extensity and Systems Union, the company still craves for more. If Flavin’s comments are to be considered then Infor ``would look for more acquisitions. It would mostly be a product development company.’’ However, Flavin opted not to disclose more on the matter.
Infor is buoyant on the business it generates from the mid-market, which contributes 90 per cent. ``The growth is explosive here,’’ asserts Flavin.
Flavin adds that the hybrid model of direct and channel sales have reaped rich harvest for Infor. ``This is keeping us going. Right now the model is working for us,’’ he said.
The acquisition of SSA Global also means that Infor boasts the former’s 600 employees and 280 customers in India. The privately-held Infor at present has presence in 100 countries, 70,000 customers and 8,100 employees. Infor was originally called Agilisys till it got rechristened to the present identity in 2004.
