NEW DELHI: Info Edge India Pvt Ltd, the promoters of Naukri.com and Jeevansaathi.com, is planning to provide content on the mobile.
The company is initially targeting the voice segment and is planning to launch voice-assisted sales and registration over the telephone.
Info Edge New Media head Kumar Apurva said, “The initial operations for the voice-based services would be set up in the next 30—40 days, while the full operations would start in the next three months. The company is initially setting up a 40-50-seat center in Noida for this purpose. The voice-based services would be accessible from all over India through one number.”
To disseminate its content through mobile, the company plans to tie-up with various mobile operators, media houses and websites. The company currently provides information about jobs to its naukri.com database through its own short code.
Apurva said, “The search application on the mobile is still not there and the company is working towards developing an application, which would enable mobile users to search the company database just like the online search.”
The company is planning to tie-up with various mobile operators to provide its content to their subscribers (job, matrimonial and property). Mobile users can access the content by using the short code of their respective providers.
The company is also planning to WAP enable its website so that it could be accessed through hand held devices.
