Infinite acquires Hyderabad-based Datagrid

HYDERABAD: Datagrid Services, a Hyderabad-based firm providing management solutions has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Infinite Computer Solutions after being acquired by the latter for an undisclosed amount.

Through the acquisition Infinite aims to supplement its existing BPO offerings in Hyderabad.

Infinite will also set up its own campus having a 3000 sq ft space in the city with an investment of $10 million.

Announcing the acquisition, Upinder Zutshi, CEO, Infinite Computer Solutions, said, “We want to use Hyderabad as a major hub for BPO services and make it the second major delivery facility after Bangalore.”

The acquisition also means that Infinite will use Datagrid's 250 employees. In a year's time, Infinite plans to increase the Hyderabad headcount to 900 and amass a revenue of $8 million.

The acquisition deal was finalized three weeks back. The Hyderabad centre will now be known as Infinite BPO Service. Operations out of the city have already started, said Zutshi.

“By coming together we will be able to leverage their reach and position to establish ourselves as a leader in the KPO space,” hoped GLN Prasad, founder-director of Datagrid Services.

Divulging more details on Infinite's future plans, Zutshi added that the company wants to become a $300 million organization by 2009. Infinite also plans to increase its headcount to 9000 by the same period.

After Hyderabad, Infinite has identified Pune as its next destination. On a global scale moves are afoot by the firm to start operations in Amsterdam, Paris and Frankfurt this year.
