indya.com launches 'intelligent messenger'

BANGALORE: indya.com, a STAR group company, has launched Indya Messenger with

interoperability features. The features like mini web, find a like minded

friend, chat with people surfing on the same site, what's hot meter, moods and

intentions are also included.

One of the key features of the messenger is its interoperability which allows

friends using other

sites like yahoo to be seen in the friends list. The messenger has a graphic

representation of the on-site users and includes a Portable Id, which allows

users to log on from anywhere without downloading the messenger.

Speaking at the launch, Indya.com executive vice president, content and services

Arun Katiyar said, "Messenger market is not a saturated segment, but it has

now matured and users want more than just text messaging." This is where

our 'Intelligent Messenger' comes in and we are confident it will be a

compelling experience for our users" he added.

The company's focus is to position itself as a communications, entertainment and

transaction house and is working towards offering more value added services to

indya.com in association with Spice in Karnataka will soon offer SMS cricket

commentary for Spice users. The company is in the process of finalizing tie-ups

to offer news and financial services information as SMS.
