Industry bodies, trade organizations support BangaloreIT.in 2007

BANGALORE: BangaloreIT.in, Asia's biggest IT and telecom event, initiated by the Department of IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka and STPI – Bangalore and CyberMedia Events (a division of CyberMedia) will be supported by major industry and trade bodies in the country.

The various organizations include Indian Semiconductor Association (ISA), The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE), Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), Electronic City Industries’ Association (ELCIA), Indian Angel Network (INA), Consortium of Electronics Industries of Karnataka (CLIK), Manufacturers’ Association of Information Technology (MAIT), Computer Society of India (CSI), and the Bangalore Forum of IT (BFIT).

"This year, the event is very focused and in line with the requirements of the industry. The move to a conference based event, while retaining the exhibition format, will give members an opportunity to interact, network and share knowledge with peers and industry leaders," said Ms. Poornima Shenoy, President, ISA. "This will be an important platform for the semiconductor industry to display the high-end capabilities that the industry has built in the country," she added.

ISA’s vision is to establish India as the preferred global hub for excellence in creation of semiconductor products through technology leadership. Some of the key initiatives of ISA include building a brand for the Indian semiconductor industry, meet the need for human capital and sustained R&D efforts through collaborations with universities and academic institutions as well as interface with the government to create an eco-system for the Indian semiconductor industry through policies.

Vidyashankar, Secretary, IT, BT and S & T, Government of Karnataka.

The conference will showcase Bangalore’s unique Information Technology eco-system and how the various clusters will benefit the IT industry.  The tracks that have been drawn out cover relevant industry trends in Cluster and Best Practices, the Domestic Market and Education and Development. The three-day long conference will be inaugurated on Oct 29, 2007; the conference will include keynote addresses, power panels and parallel sessions.
