CPC Healthcare Communications in Toronto created E-Action Info for UCB Canada, an app that educates and raises awareness of epilepsy. The app features a 3D pinch and zoom brain, as well as a "brain game," as fun sources of edutainment. E-Action Info was shortlisted at the 2013 Tabby Awards, which recognize excellence in tablet apps, and was a recent finalist for the 2013 Global Awards.

Insight, Indigenus' network agency in Sydney, Australia, was behind Color U, an app that converts iPhone photos into coloring book sketches that the user can color in on their phone and then store or share. Designed with both adults and children in mind, the app is both intuitive and entertaining.

Also out of Australia, Insight's digital team (Healthy Digital) has launched an app for bioCSL, the world's sole producer of antivenoms for Australia's most venomous creatures. The free app-Australian Bites & Stings: First Aid Guide to Australian Venomous Creatures-provides first aid advice for potentially deadly bites and stings from all Australian creatures that swim, slither, fly, or crawl. On the iTunes store in Australia, it is the No. 1 rated Free Health & Fitness app, and the No. 5 rated Free app.

A third app out of Insight Australia and Healthy Digital is the Hidden Patients' Augmented Reality app, which brings to life MSD Hub's new patient recall software tool that makes it easier for healthcare professionals to identify patients who may benefit from a review or whose records may otherwise be lost. The app brings MSD Hub's benefits to life, and then links to a more detailed demonstration of the tool.

The app won a CLIO Healthcare bronze award in the category of integrated campaign and was also a finalist in two categories of the 2013 Global Awards.

Out of New York, The CementBloc helps the world fill up on happiness with their new : ) fuel™ (pronounced Happy Fuel) app. The iPhone app helps users live in the happy by giving them a way to create, store, and share photos, videos, voice memos, locations, messages, and songs, and then gauge how happy each moment makes them feel.

Optimized for iOS 7, Happy Fuel also features functionality to let users connect with each other and share content privately or publicly within Happy Fuel, as well as on other social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Happy Fuel was named a finalist at the recent 2013 Global Awards presentation.
