NEW DELHI: Tata Indicom has announced the launch of a Closed User Group (CUG) facility that will allow its customers unlimited local call access to every other member within the defined user group at a flat charge of only Rs 50. As per the offering, a minimum of five Tata Indicom customers can come together to form a CUG by paying a monthly scheme charge of Rs 50 each, which will allow them free local call usage within the defined user group.

The company claims that the CUG service will be offered to customers across Tata Indicom's fixed and wireless networks making Tata Indicom the country's first telecom service to offer CUG facility across fixed wireline, fixed wireless and mobile services.

The CUG facility of Tata Indicom also does not restrict the maximum number of individuals in the group. According to the company, the facility, which will allow its customers high local call usage (within the CUG) at no incremental usage cost, offers end customers a saving opportunity on their phone bills. The facility will be offered to Tata Indicom customers in business groups, sharing common business interests like corporate, trading community, etc. The CUG facility is available to customers who subscribe to Plan 450 and above, and does not cover Tata Indicom Board / PCO lines.

The CUG facility is presently being offered across all products (Mobile, FWP& Wireline) in the circles of New Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. In Maharshtra, CUG is available across FWP and Mobile and would soon include wireline as well.
