NEW DELHI: Indiasoft 2002 is being held in New Delhi between February 20-22,
2002 to provide opportunity to Indian companies particularly SMEs to showcase
their products, services and capabilities. There are 150 delegates, buyers and
visitors from world over visiting the forum and they would be interacting with
the 50 inter-state companies who would showcase their products.
The forum is being organized by ESC (Electronics and computer Software export
promotion Council), an autonomous body under Department of Information
Technology and Ministry of Communications and IT. The country partner for the
event is Republic of Korea, partner states are Gujarat and West Bengal and
co-sponsors were Bird Group, Choice Solutions, NCST, SIDBI Venture Capital Ltd.
and DOEACC.
The guest of honor for the occasion was Rini Suwandi, Minister for Industry
& Trade, Republic of Indonesia, and the chief guest was K C Pant, deputy
chairman, Planning Commission, Govt. of India. A business to business networking
event the forum has had representations from countries like France, Germany,
South Korea, Oman, Hungary, Brazil and many others. Conferences are being held
on IT enabled services, outsourcing, venture capital availability and IT
infrastructure among others. The event is also to witness the presentation of
export awards recognizing the achievements of IT export units in the country.
