BANGALORE: The Silicon Valley of India will play host to India's first Miss HighTech Bangalore contest. A beauty pageant exclusively for Bangalore women who are single, above 18 years and IT savvy. The event is scheduled to be held on 13th December at SpeedZone.

"General familiarity with computer usage and the IT industry are good enough for applicants to qualify for the contest," said Akhila Doraswamy, PR Specialist, ADDR Technologies. A plethora of gifts is being promised for the winners by the organisers.

A web designing, web hosting and software development company, ADDR Technologies is hosting the event. A six-year old company headquartered in America, ADDR have been running their offshore operations in Bangalore for the past one and half years.

Interested applicants may apply online at www.misshightechbangalore.com or pick up printed applications from popular outlets across the city. Applicants are required to apply with a photograph before 15th November. "There will be interesting rounds specifically highlighting the HighTech aspect and questions would be based on professional/work environment and not necessarily on social issues, as is the practice with regular beauty pageants. This is aimed at bringing out the beauty of the working women in the IT industry," stated Doraswamy.

20 selected finalists would undergo training with a choreographer for a period of 3 weeks wherein they would be able to imbibe specialised skills in poise, etiquette, mannerisms, body language, apparel, makeup etc.

"The contestants will be judged based on poise, confidence and knowledge of the IT industry, mainly the current trends. Applications are also invited from programming, marketing, HR, advertising, PR and administration professionals within the IT industry," added Doraswamy.

After Indian women winning the Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Asia Pacific and even Mrs World contests, its time now for Miss HighTech and Bangalore has set the ball rolling.
