India's Magzter is No.1 grosser on Apple App Store

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Magzter, an online magazine store developed by two Chennai-based entrepreneurs Girish Ramdas and Vijayakumar Radhakrishnan, is now the top grosser on the Apple App store. Magzter is a global mobile magazine store through which one can browse, buy, and read magazines on their iPads and iPhones.

Since last Thursday, Magzter has overtaken international favorites and long standing grossers like Angry Birds, NY Times for iPad, Clash of Clans, Frontline Commando, Quick Office Pro HD, Paradise Cove, FIFA 13, Need for Speed, Temple Run, Documents To Go, Poker by Zynga and Zinio by bringing its total number of global users to 4.5 million, according to media reports.

Magzter claims to have 5000 magazine issues including a bunch of free ones and also add new titles from around the world every week. The app has an interesting feature wherein users can set the country and be shown the latest and best magazines from their country of choice first. Also, Magazine Subscriptions are available for purchase inside this app.

Some of the top free magazines that are available on Magzter are Forbes India, S Magazine, Frappe, Page Seven, and several others. For more in formation on the same, click here. The app is said to be the first Indian app to feature in the top grossers list across various App Stores. In the number of daily downloads as well, Magzter has crossed other reading apps. Magzter's more recent inclusion is its presence on the Windows 8 App Store, according to a statement.
