Carried out in partnership with IIM Bangalore and AlignMark Inc., GTM has gone a step further to unveil a tool named it StarSelect 1.0, which would arm the recruiters with the ability to identify attrition at an early stage.

The research, data set and findings have been extensively used in order to customize the tool for the Indian market.

Speaking to CyberMedia News, Dr Cabot Jaffee, chairman of Global Talent Metrics said, “The challenge of attrition, though not unique to India, is unique and intense in a manner not seen in other markets across the world. This makes it imperative that any knowledge or psychometric tool in this area be locally validated. We are committed to investing in R&D that would be helping companies improve how they source and select their talent.”

Contrary to popular beliefs, this report states that Indian workforce is not as mercenary as companies perceive them to be.

More people are career driven than greedy. Also, this report brings forth the fact that attrition is not a personality or behavioral trait as many believes.

Some of the specific goals of this report were to identify trends in leavers’ behavior and the reasons employees change jobs or companies.

The report also set a goal of recognizing senior executives’ and job incumbents’ perceptions on reasons for staying with or leaving an organization and exploring retention strategies that have a positive influence on staff retention.
