Blue Star Infotech limited, Sunlet Systems (P) Ltd and Magnasoft Consulting India (P) Ltd. are the three Indian companies who have been announced as winners of the seal at CEBIT by Mr. Oluf Ulseth, Norwegian State Secretary for Industry. Commenting on the announcement, Mr.Philippe Wacker, Secretary General, European Multimedia Forum (EMF), welcomed the participation of Indian companies in this year’s seal and highlighted the excellent co-operation with the Bangalore-based Interactive technology, Software &Media Association (ITSMA). In a context that is becoming increasingly anti-globalization we want the Seal to remind us all that cross-cultural collaboration is not only profitable but mutually fruitful and a factor in reinforcing peace. In the future we plan to extend our Seal to other regions of the world."

Added Surbhi Sharma, Secretary General, ITSMA, "I am delighted that our effort in extending the seal to India has paid off and am sure that this would help in Indian companies further in exploring and accessing the European market particularly in the interactive media sector. I am also happy to announce that the awards will be presented at a exclusive function to be held in Bangalore on the 25th of March 2004 as part of the Indo-European IT SME Forum."

Awarded on the basis of five criteria — ‘innovation, performance, user friendliness, benefit to society and market creation & penetration, the seal acts as a visibility tool highlighting the European Multimedia Accelerator, a joint effort of Europe’s multimedia associations to support their members’ international business expansion. It distinguishes European companies with applications, services or technologies that are genuinely outstanding and world class and non-European companies with an outstanding track record of collaborating with Europe.
