'India telecom consolidation will take time'

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Norway's Telenor ASA does not think consolidation in the Indian telecoms industry is "right around the corner," its chief executive said on Friday.

The Nordic telecom operator's Indian unit, Uninor, added 2.5 million subscribers in October to take its total user base to 13.5 million in the country, Jon Fredrik Baksaas told reporters in the Indian capital.
