CHENNAI:"India needs to reposition itself to become a total IT solution provider rather than being just a service-oriented industry to retain its global position as IT preferred country in the world," said Wilfred Guerzl, IT business manager with AC Neilson, Germany.

Talking to CyberMedia News, Guerzl, said, "India is still a hot happening place for global IT companies. However, to maintain the leadership in the field of IT, particularly in the field of software exports, Indian companies should focus on delivering total IT

solutions to their partners."

He added that India is not strong in the hardware market compared to the other Asian countries such as China, Taiwan, etc. But the entry of hardware companies such as Nokia and proposed entry of Intel would help place India in the hardware-manufacturing map of the world.

Further, Guerzl opined that the entry of Nokia and Intel would mostly cater to the domestic market. "The domestic market in India is huge today with the increasing penetration of both the IT and telecom products.”
