InCap tripling Tumkur unit capacity

BANGALORE, INDIA: Finnish firm InCap Contract Manufacturing Services is tripling the capacity of its recently acquired electronics manufacturing plant in Tumkur (Karnataka), a reaction to the increase in demand seen in the country. The Rs 490-crore firm will build another factory next year.

After the takeover of TVS Electronics’ factory at Tumkur in May, InCap has installed a PCB (printed circuit board) Fuji-line which will triple the capacity of the assembly line. It has five clients in India currently, said  Juhani Hanninen, CEO.

To add two PCBs

He expects the factory to earn €6 million by this year end. The company aims to make over €40 million by 2010, by adding two more PCB assembly lines and replacing the factory with a new one next year. InCap will also harness design capability in India a year from now.

InCap delivers electronic products to industrial electronics, medical equipment makers and telecommunication firms in the country. Its clients include GE, ABB, Reliance, Nokia, Kone Elevators and watch maker Suunto.

The company manufactures tracking systems, security electronics and electrical power products for 40 clients worldwide. The factory in India will help InCap continue to keep pace with growing consumer demand.
