NEW DELHI: On the go users can backup their valuable data while on move. IBM has announced the release of data backup software that can enable backup process remotely.

Coined as Tivoli Continuous Data Protection for Files, the software can provide real-time backup to the data stored on the notebook's hard disk.

Growing usage of wireless hotspots and high-speed connectivity can make continuos backup of data possible. Keeping ease of use in mind for the non-technical users, the software offers an easy installation process and uses simple steps to ascertain the location of file storage and configuration of the remote server.

Upon installation the software creates a copy of the file on a local machine and transmits another copy to the remote server. On completion of the backup process accidentally deleted or corrupted files can be restored by the software.

The software designed keeping the business users in mind can backup all kinds of data ranging from Word documents to presentations to music files and digital photos.
