Impetus starts product co. to launch Intellicus in India

NEW DELHI: Impetus Technologies, provider of outsourced product development, has announced the launch of its product spin-off company, Intellicus Technologies in India. Conceptualized and developed in India, Intellicus is a next-generation web-based Enterprise Reporting Suite that provides a platform for intelligent information delivery.

Powering multi-platform deployments in a large load-balanced cluster, Intellicus supports applications on Windows, Linux, Solaris and Unix. The product was entirely developed at Impetus' Indore product development facility and was launched in the US in 2003.

The company is bullish about the Indian market. According to the company, the Indian market size for reporting tools is around $80 million. Its target customers in India include OEMs, customized software application developers and application service providers. The company is targeting regions like India, APAC, US and the Middle-East for this product.

Speaking at the launch, Impetus Technologies CEO Praveen Kankariya said, "With this flagship product we are looking to develop an extensive client base in India. Taking on from the early success of Intellicus in the US market and the growing adoption of business intelligence in India, we feel this is the right time to launch Intellicus in India."

Elaborating on the advantages of the product, he added that Intellicus is capable of accessing all the information assets in the enterprise and support wide-scale deployment. It also caters to specific high-end requirements of data security, report scheduling, complex calculations and charting, etc. that make information analysis more convenient, he added.
