SINGAPORE: ILOG has expressed its intent to chip in with its Business Rule Management System (BRMS) software for the newly launched SOA (service-oriented architecture) Center.
Jointly established by the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) and Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), the Center's aim is to encourage wider adoption of SOA in Singapore by providing a vendor-neutral facility to test Web service interoperability based on SOA principles.
ILOG on Wednesday also announced that Foo Jong Tong, general manager of ILOG Asia Pacific, had been appointed SiTF Web services chapter chairman.
Located at the School of Information Technology's Center of IT Innovation in NYP campus, the new SOA Center will receive development and deployment licenses for ILOG JRules and ILOG Rules for .NET.
ILOG JRules and ILOG Rules for .NET support the creation of Web
services by leveraging the development environments of either the Java
or .NET platforms respectively.
A BRMS allows users to build flexible service-oriented architectures (SOA) by leveraging existing resources, while minimizing the cost of deploying new applications.
Foo Jong Tong, general manager of ILOG in Asia Pacific, and
newly-appointed SiTF Web services chapter chairman said, "I am a strong
proponent of SOA and Web services, and believe that it can bring
significant benefits to many companies and their customers, and create
new business models. The generous contribution from each industry
partner of the SiTF Web services chapter for this SOA center shall
accelerate the pace for Singapore."
ILOG's BRMS presence in the NYP-SiTF SOA is the second key BRMS
initiative by ILOG in Singapore this year. Earlier in March (2005),
ILOG launched the first and only BRMS Center of Excellence (CoE) in
Asia, in collaboration with Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore
(IDA).
The Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) is Singapore's
premier infocomm industry association. It brings together almost 500
corporate members from MNCs and local companies.
