About the program

The incubation program provides support to healthcare innovators and entrepreneurs through their ‘lab to market’ journey. The NSRCEL healthcare incubation program will help both clinicians and hospitals to engage with startups. Further, it will mentor and monitor the progress of those startups which can contribute to their strategic objectives.

The program will select early-stage ventures for a three-month-long pre-incubation phase of the program. Here, mentors will guide them through need assessment, one-on-one interactions and workshops. The entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to network with more than 800 NSRCEL ventures. They will also connect with the partner networks - Bangalore BioInnovation Center, IIITB Innovation Center SocialAlpha, HCG Academics and others.

Post this, the ventures can pitch to NSRCEL for a 12-month incubation program. The incubation phase will provide workshops to entrepreneurs on building their value proposition, impact measurement, leadership capacity building, legal and compliance support, the strategic road map for scaling among others along with funding. The participants of the NSRCEL Healthcare Program will also receive continued support after program completion through webinars, masterclasses, guest lectures, and workshops.

From the leaders

Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIMB and Chairman & Executive Director of Narayana Health, launched this program. In his keynote address, he also threw light on the opportunities for start-ups solving problems in the field of healthcare. He said, “Startups can change how they deliver healthcare by making it safer for patients, more affordable, and more accessible to all.”

“While many incubators are dotting the healthcare ecosystem, we believe that our focus on the entrepreneur and to do whatever it takes to make them successful will differentiate us in this crowded space. Moreover, our unique approach of integrating doctors, hospitals and labs into the program will enable us to combine IIMB’s business mentorship with on-the-ground medical expertise under one roof, something that will be hugely valuable to entrepreneurs,” said Professor Venkatesh Panchapagesan, Chair, NSRCEL and faculty in the Finance & Accounting area of IIMB.
